Starting Over

so much is happening and my old memory is failing (LOL) that I want to start blogging again to remember.

We've had a busy, busy year with lay-offs, shortened work hours, weddings, trips to NY, new jobs, etc.

Kids are in 2nd grade and pre-K and doing well.

Larry's at his new job.

I'm working Part-Time.

Holidays are coming soon---wayyyy too soon!

Camping Weekend

This weekend was the Deer Lakes Community Camping Trip.

It was at Skymeadows and was hosted by the 8th & 9th grade girl scouts of our region.

The theme was Walk the Red Carpet and it was really fun. The activities and food were all geared towards Movies and Stardom...example lunch was Hannah Montana Hot Dogs & Miley Cyrus Mac N Cheese.

The girls decorated pants, made jewelry, painted their nails etc. The girls had alot of fun. We were split into 3 cabins, so although 8 girls from my troop were there, only 5 were in my cabin. 3 left on Saturday, but 2 stayed overnight. It was their first overnight camping trip as Girl Scouts (Daisy's actually) and they did really well.

The weather was great and although it was a little muddy out, the girls were able to play outside and enjoy the fresh air on Saturday. Sunday there was rain, but it was still warm enough.

Be back with pictures.

You Can't Please Everyone, So You Gotta Please Yourself

da na na na

Dinner time...invariably someone will not be 100% satisfied when you are feeding more than one person. Usually at our house it's Larry. No biggie, he's a big boy, he can find something he likes to eat. But it's more challenging when it's one of the kids.

Tonight was one of those nights. I decided to do a variation on Baked Ziti using Rotini instead (was out of Ziti). So usually I make meatballs, but didn't do it tonight. I browned the meat and added it to the sauce while the Rotini cooked.

Good for Marissa who all of a sudden doesn't like Meatballs.

Bad for Dylay who wanted Meatballs.

Oh well, it was also good for Mama because that's what I was craving.

Should have put in ear plugs at the dinner table so I didn't have to listen to the grumblings.

Chuck E Cheese

Yesterday was such a dreary day...you could see that winter was coming...it was cold, windy, cloudy and just dreary. We decided to take the kids to Chuck E Cheese for the day.

Early Halloween

Halloween events started so early this year.

Last Wednesday Marissa attended a party with the Scouts in the Deer Lakes area.

Here's a pic of her

Today we have a party my friend Deb and her son CJ are throwing. I made some treats...

I'll be back with more pics from the party!
