Down On The Farm

A local orchards/farm has Corn Roasts on Sundays in August & September. It's the most delicious corn I've ever tasted. I took the kids one Sunday in August where they went to the petting/feeding zoo, played in the houses and structures, had hotdogs and delicious roasted corn. As you can see, Dylan wasn't so sure about feeding the goats!

LET'S GO METS!!!

On August 17th the NY Mets were in town vs. The Pirates. We had tickets to the game. The METS kicked butt (of course :) ). I had the kids chanting LET's GO METS...much to Larry's dismay.

I Missed The Whole Month of August

The summer has surely whizzed by. We've been so busy with work and activities and parties and such...Let's see....

We went to the zoo, the Science Center, The Children's Museum, bowling, the pool, the playground...we had bbq's and parties, we went to some ourselves. We had visitors and visited. We had first day of school and lots of playing.

Bowling (Miss Marissa loves to wear a dress!)

Larry played soft ball again for the church leagues. They made it to the playoffs but lost the 2nd game. He did make it to the all star game. Here are some pics from the various games played:

Growing Up So So Fast

Oh My! Where is the time going. Check out my young lady!

Zoo

A few weeks ago we took the kids to the zoo when Aunt Liz was visiting. Everyone has their faves:

Mommy loves the Penguins
Daddy loves the gorillas
Sissy loves the camels, huhn???
Buddy loves the Bears.

There was a new baby elephant that was born just 4 days before and was amazing to see. How cute they are when they are babies....just a few hundred pounds about a just about 5 feet high LOL. It was already up and walking and nursing from it's mommy. Dylan also loved the seal statue. Here are some more pictures.

YUMMY!

It's so cool that Marissa likes yummy food and likes a great variety of things.

Yesterday the "boys" had a Pirates game to go to so the "girls" went shopping and out to dinner.

Marissa has been begging to go to Applebees for a while so that's where we went and we weren't very hungry so we shared boneless buffalo wings and a salad. YUMMO!

Flip Flapping Fish in the Back Seat

Sunday my friend Michele had an Elmo theme for her sons first birthday party.

As a gift the kids got Gold Fish (yes live gold fish) in bowls to take home.

Well we covered the bowls with saran wrap and were on our way home. Dylan was nodding off and Marissa & I were trying to keep him awake, but in a lull in our driving/talking/singing he either nodded off and tilted the fish bowl or pulled off the saran wrap but all of a sudden half the water was gone and there was a fish flip flopping around the back seat of my van.

I pulled over and asked Marissa to grab it but she was squeamish (this is a girl who picks worms out of dirt and makes homes for bugs) so I had to go back there and get the fish back in the bowl. I couldn't get the saran wrap back on the bowl, but I found one of the balls from Dylan's Wiffle Bat set and put it on top and drove the rest of the way home.

So we have an addition of 2 goldfish to our family now. No names yet...although we've been batting around Dorothy 1 and Dorothy 2 (after all they were from an ELMO party), Maura & Reagan (after twins that Marissa knows), Nemo & Dory....
