Every day I'm reminded how much my children are growing up. They do things and I think "Oh right she's 6 or he's 3 now".
Today I didn't work so Dylan and I met my friend Laura and her 3 year old Bryce at the movies. They have a Monday afternoon special for $5, admission and a popcorn. So we went to see Alvin & The Chipmunks.
After arguing with Bryce about seating and getting settled, the boys were sitting side by side with their drinks, popcorn and napkins and we were sitting right behind. Laura remarks, "It's a little sad that our little guys are sitting in front of us, all prepared watching a movie. It really hits you how much they are growing up. Usually he sits right next to me." I answered "yes it's sad to see your kids growing up. You are so proud of them, but yet you are sad as well."
It got me thinking of the other things he will be doing soon without me. He currently goes to pre-school without me and we are thinking of signing him up for gymnastics or something and that won't be Mommy & Me anymore.
I didn't have to be sad for long though...about half way through the movie he came back to my row to sit on me!

Leap Year 2008
to think if I was born on 2/29 in a leap year I wouldn't be as old as I am :)
I can dream, can't I????
winter, winter, go away.... so much snow has been coming our way...
tired of cold, tired of snow, will it stop? no no no

What Delight!
who would have thought that a package of Jiffy Pop pop-corn could cause such delight?
A few weeks ago I bought a few packages at Target in their dollar section and today the kids asked for it for snack.
Well when they saw the foil expanding from the popping of the kernels their eyes grew wide and the giggles and laughing started.
Mental note to self: when the kids are cranky, pull out some popcorn!

Exhaustion
So busy lately...let's see what's been going on at our place.
Marissa lost her first tooth on Saturday. She was so excited, but truthfully she kept wiggling it. We were at Game On a Girl Scouts Event at Pitt's Petersen's Event Center and their women's basketball team during the day and she was remarking how loose her tooth was and I said "it should be falling out soon". Sure enough that even while she and Dylan were rough-housing with Larry she came up with her mouth bleeding. I started yelling out Larry that he's too rough with her and that he'd given her a fat lip and then we realized her tooth was missing. It fell out and she didn't even feel it. The toothfairy brought her $5 and she was so excited. She had her check-up at the dentist yesterday and she has one more loose tooth and her new teeth are coming in already and will be pushed up into place soon.
Sunday Marissa nd I went to see the Hannah Montana Concert movie. Before we went we stopped at the mall and I saw that Value City was going out of business and having a huge sale, so of course I went shopping :).
When we came home I found out that Dylan gave himself a haircut :(. So Tuesday I took him to get it corrected and we ended up buzzing off most of his hair.
Monday I interviewed with a company for a per-diem nurse recruiting job and it went really well, but I don't think I'm going to take it if offered. Salary will be low and there's no flexibility with working from home.
I registered Dylan in Deer Lakes Nursery School for pre-school next fall. He will be going Tues & Thurs mornings and tonight while Marissa & I are at Daisy's, Larry will be registering her for Spring Soccer.

Christmas
Christmas at Casa Myers was good. The kids got soooo much toys and are very happy (I think!). We have been having fun watching Dylan playing with his new guitar.
Yesterday we had Christmas with the Bah Humbug family (MIL's sisters and their families). Needless to say, that will be the last time we do that. They are a bunch of cold, cheap asses. I might come back at another time to vent, but I fear that if I type it out now, I'll appear to be a greedy, bitch, so I'll vent when I calm down. Here's a picture of Marissa from last night though---'Nuff Said!

Santa & School Pictures
Friday night we were at Wildwood Highlands for Dinner with Santa. It was great because it wasn't so crowded. Buffet dinner, access to Soft Play area, tokens for games and picture with Santa. Deb and CJ were there too and we got to talk while the kids played.
I'm so glad that it wasn't so crowded. I thought there would be more families there.
Everything went well until Dylan got slammed by a bigger kid in the ball pit. Ended up with a bloody nose, poor guy.
Link to pictures of the kids with Santa, our Christmas Card picture and their school pictures from 2007 and 2006...wow how they have changed in 1 year!
