Last night Larry & I went to the Mellon Arena to see the Billy Joel concert!
It was great! It was like listening live to a Greatest Hits Album! I had such a good time.
He got so old, but he played great. The band was great, the songs were classic and we loved rocking out with Billy.
Funny part: He told the crowd that his guitar roadie was a tryout for American Idol but didn't make it because he wasn't telegenic enough. So Billy was going to give this guy, Chainsaw, a chance to perform and he was going to sing a religious song that we'd all be humming to on the way home. The guy comes out and the band performs AC/DC's Highway to Hell! It was fantastic...the guy was a dead ringer (sound wise) to their lead singer.
What a great night. He of course ended with Piano Man. I lost it when he performed "New York State of Mind."
