So the pictures below are from our trip back to NY Memorial Day weekend. We left around 3:30am Friday/Saturday and arrived at Frank's at around 10:00am. Frank and Yolanda took the kids out to the playground and Carvel while Larry & I rested. Then we spent the rest of the day at their house.
The first two pictures are when we started out, Marissa fell back to sleep and Dylan was pissed off that he was up that early.
Sunday we went to a Memorial Day party. The kids had fun: Marissa in the pool all day long (it was heated so she loved it!) and Dylan playing baseball. He wanted to go in the pool earlier, when the heater wasn't on, but it was too cold when he put his feet in, so that was that.
We spent Monday at Ellie & Cal's and the kids had fun with some friends. Frank & Yolanda came over then too.

I like to live in America!
Friday night Larry & I went downtown to see West Side Story. I've loved this movie almost forever. It reminds me so much of growing up in NY being 1/2 puerto rican and 1/2 italian and seeing how the two sides played against each other in our Brooklyn neighborhood. So when I saw that the play was going to be in Pittsburgh, I begged Larry for tickets for Mother's Day.
The play was good, not phenomenal. It was a local acting troupe, not a travelling broadway show as I was expecting, but it was good. Some of the actors were really good. The actor who played Tony was great. Some of the skits were really well done. However, the puerto rican accents weren't great. The actress who played Maria sounded more Russian than Puerto Rican, so that was disappointing. I guess coming from NY and knowing the accent, I couldn't buy into the actress. She was no Natalie Wood.

I'm In A New York State of Mind
The Tappan Zee Bridge.
The kids are super excited. We are going back for Memorial Day weekend. We'll be there Saturday through Tuesday. Marissa is counting down the days. I have them tooting "Let's Go Mets". Marissa wants to pack already. I had to convince her not to until we are closer to leaving so that we pack the appropriate stuff. Ahhhh to be a kid again.

Fun Day W/Dylan

Lather, Rinse, Repeat
Dylan came in early this morning to sleep with mommy. He's so funny. He drags his pillow with him; like with 4 pillows on the bed between me and Larry, he needs his own! He wanted juice so we went downstairs and I got him some water. He then settled in between me and Larry and promptly fell back to sleep.
A few minutes later I hear some murmuring from him and I peek over and he's talking in his sleep. He lifts up one hand and he says "soap please" then he lathers both hands up and sticks them up palm side up to rinse. A few seconds later, he wipes his "washed" hands on his pajamas and then he's quiet again.
The hand washing dream is over....
